The Grand River South East Gymnastics Club was founded by Lutchmun brothers, Sarvesh and Bhrij in February 2013 with the main aim of promoting the sports of gymnastics in Mauritius. Since its creation, the GRSE Gymnastics Club has been participating in various gymnastics competition including the Tumbling Gymnastics Interclub Competition 2013, the University of Mauritius Gymnastics Championships 2013, the National Tumbling & Trampoline Gymnastics Championships 2013 and the SNG National Acrobatic Gymnastics Invitational 2014. The main achievements of the Club are the 2 Gold Medals obtained by Mitesh Ramsamy and Rishita Lallbahadur during the Tumbling Gymnastics Interclub Competition 2013 and the Gold Medal obtained by Harshini Ramnauth at the National Tumbling & Trampoline Gymnastics Championships 2013.
In October 2013, Rishi Joaheer, Elected Member of the Grand River South East Village Council and equally a sports lover, generously sponsored the club with brand new equipment which has boost energy among the young gymnasts to train harder. Training sessions are held twice a week with the practice of practically all gymnastics disciplines including Artistic, Tumbling, Acrobatic and Gym for All.
The Club inspires to produce more quality gymnasts who will be able to represent Mauritius on the international platform in the near future. In addition, the Club remains one that promotes healthy living, capacity building, and children and youth development through the sports of gymnastics.
